The children and grandchildren of these people should also read this book, because they can help make the modifications. In addition, caregivers should become familiar with these ideas so they can help improve the home environments for those they serve.

Provides the reader with a baseline of what to look for from someone’s trunk, head, through toe; and where to go from there. Specifics types of seating needs are also discussed in order to achieve proper wheelchair positioning. Great book overall, especially in long-term care for OT students or new grads, wherever wheelchair positioning is encountered daily. Helped me a lot!

I became very attached to its words, I read it time after time, and when we had our book club meeting I was overjoyed to read the poems, and try to explain them to the best of my understanding of what they mean.

My daughter is 4 and is fascinated by this book. She wants to read it over and over. It is the only book I have found about a child in a wheelchair. I wish there were more about kids with disabilities.
