Assistive Technology Assistance Programs & Information

The Handi-Ramp® Resource Center is a comprehensive network of technology related assistance and information programs for the physically handicapped and wheelchair bound. Our goal is to increase access to assistive technology, devices and services for individuals with disabilities and their families.


Technical Assistance Project

What is Assistive Technology? Assistive technology (AT) is any item, piece of equipment, or product system, whether acquired commercially off the shelf, modified, or customized, that is used to increase, maintain, or improve the functional capabilities of individuals with disabilities.

Who Uses Assistive Technology? Individuals with disabilities use assistive technology to accommodate limitations due to their disabilities.

Mobility Programs for the Physically Challenged

You may be eligible for up $1,000 rebate to help pay for the cost of a wheelchair loading ramp from these mobility programs. These programs were established to provide cash payments to disabled drivers for the installation of adaptive equipment in any new vehicle, whether it is purchased or leased.
