Yard ramps can be moved over short distances, within a plant or facility, or hauled on the back of a flat bed truck over hundreds of miles.
The mobile dock ramp can be moved with a forklift in two directions. It can be pulled by the bottom edge of a forklift with a tow bar and pushed with the forks of a forklift using a ramp clamp. The same hole in the bottom of the yard ramp is used to connect to the tow bar and the ramp clamp.
Before starting to pull or push the ramp around, the “landing gear” or wheels located at the undercarriage of the ramp should be deployed. If the wheels are not lowered, the bottom of your yard ramp will scrape against the ground, and the forklift will have to work against much greater drag.
Connecting a Yard Ramp to a Tow Bar Connect the tow bar to the back of the ramp. The other side of the tow bar should be connected to the rear of the forklift. |
Moving a Yard Ramp with a Tow Bar The forklift pulls the yard ramp. The yard ramp can only move at a speed of 3 miles per hour. |
